OSCARS!!!

Ok so Hollie, she did it again!! Look at Mila Kunis WOW....my personal fav and best dressed of the night.Amy Adams gets my award for "accesories gone wrong." This dress would have been fine without that necklace and bracelet, it doesn't even match!
ScarJo is just a trainwreck if you ask me, this dress looks cheap.

And my FAVORITE award of the night....the "DAYUM girl looks good" award goes to Jennifer Hudson....where do I sign up for weight watchers? I do not like the dress but don't take any credit away from her, sista looks good!

Oh, and thanks to perezhilton.com for all pictures!

Daddy/Daughter Day

On Tuesday my dad called and asked me on a lunch date for today! I was honored to say YES! He had a stroke 3 years ago and the doctors didn't expect him to live a year so he is a miracle from God. He is VERY special to me and has always been super supportive, he is a blessing to me and my family. He and my mom got married on my 10th birthday and he has been the best birthday present. We went to Red Lobster whoo hoo and just had a good day. Here is a picture of us at the beach last year. I enjoy hearing all of his funny stories and today was no different, he had me laughing the whole time. I am a lucky girl! Happy Weekend!

Spring Stella and Dot....

For the last 3 days I have been in bed sick :( ......which means I got caught up on ALL magazines! The new Stella and Dot spring catalog came in today and these are some of my favorites.

I feel like these earrings would be perfect for day or night! This necklace is just FUN!
I could totally see this with a strapless dress or a white tank for spring/summer!

This bracelet comes in other colors and it would look so good mixed with other bracelets...I will be ordering this!

My ultimate favorite new piece, the revival necklace.....you could pair this with so much....must have now!!
And I am still absolutely OBSESSED with these earrings....but they are still not on sale.

I think its time to go to mart and see if I can find some knockoffs that are not so hard on my wallet! Happy Spring!

Goat cheese anyone??

My March Southern Living Magazine came in the mail yesterday and this was one of the many recipes that I can't wait to try! I am OBSESSED with goat cheese and strawberries so I know this may be my new favorite sandwich. Goat Cheese and Strawberry Grilled Cheese. Ingredients:
1 goat cheese log softened
6 bread slices
4 1/2 tsp red pepper jelly
3/4 cup sliced strawberries
6 large basil leaves
1 1/2 cups fresh watercress or arugula
salt and pepper.

Spread goat cheese on one side of bread and pepper jelly on the other. Fill with strawberries, basil, and watercress. Then cook in a large, lightly greased nonstick skillet over medium heat 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown!!

YUMMY!

My decor inspiration!

So I am in major decorating mode. For those of you who know me, I am not creative in ANY way but blogging has given me total inspiration. I have turned into a decorating junkie. I am constantly looking in magazines and stalking blogs and here are some of my inspiration pictures. I am starting with my guest bedroom. My room is not quite this yellow its more khaki but I LOVE the clean, crisp look of the bedspread with the bright window shades.

I also LOVE the navy headboard in this picture, but I think I want a pattern. I LOVE the bench/table/ whatever you call it at the end of the bed. I think I want to go with a navy headboard for my room.

This picture is my FAVORITE EVER!! I am OBSESSED and thanks to my personal interior expert Hollie Hill she has helped me get this in my guest room! We are busy working and the progress is SOOOO exciting. I will be posting pictures soon! If you have any ideas of where to look for stuff similar to these pictures let me know.

Signing Day!

This past Wednesday was college football signing day!! My "baby" signed with Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott Kansas. We were all so proud of him. His name is Van Williams and I met him 3 years ago when I taught one of his cousins. I didn't fully adopt him until his junior year. When he came to me he was not doing so well and was hanging out with the wrong people and making the wrong decisions. After one terrifying experience he decided he wanted to change. This is the kind of change he made!! The change he has made is incredible. He goes to church with my mom and dad every Sunday and spends the afternoons with my family. He knows the opportunities that are ahead of him and he is doing everything he can to make something of himself. He had division one school offers but because of his early setbacks he did not have the classes to go division one. He chose this school because of their high placement of their players in D-1 schools.
I am so proud of him and am excited to see where this opportunity takes him!! I am not ready for him to be 15 hours away to I can't go and whip up on him if I have to. Both of our families have already started looking into charter flights! I LOVE my job and the opportunity it gives me to make a difference in people's lives. If you ever get a chance to volunteer at a high school or middle school please do it! Our youth are in desperate need of role models. I promise you will not be sorry. These kids impact my life daily and I thank God for allowing me to be an educator!

Look out for Vantavious Williams "Whoop" #5!
