To Coty; A Fallen Soldier

Today a Cordele marine, Corporal Coty Sockalosky was brought home. This is a video of his procession that started in Warner Robins and ended in Cordele. He died last week after stepping on an IED. After seeing this it made me realize just how thankful we should be for being free. This guy was only 21 years old and he gave all for his country. The people of Cordele lined the streets and there was not a dry tear in the crowd. PLEASE pray for his family and friends, and please pray for our soldiers still overseas. After today I say PLEASE bring them home.

THANK YOU COTY!

Anniversary Weekend

This weekend Shane and I headed to Athens to celebrate our anniversary with friends, fun, and football. Our first date was to the Tennessee/GA game 4 years ago and we LOST so we were hoping for a better outcome and we got it! One of my bestest friends, Ashley let us stay in her apartment with my little Triton while they went to a wedding in Florida :(. On Friday night we went to dinner at Speakeasy with Hollie, Wesley, Maggie, and Dave. Dave pulled a fast one on us and ordered one of every special....we were so confused!

On Saturday we headed to tailgate with Greg and Katie and some more of Shane's friends from college. One couple had their precious 9 month old little boy there and within about 2 hours we had counted NUMEROUS reasons why we should not have babies.
Reason number 1= We listened to and sang C-Lo's new song about 50 times.
Skip to reason number 100- we LOVED playing with the baby carrier.....
The tailgate was not totally obnoxious, there were SOME moments of maturity.

Shawn and Dannielle came to join us!

Our white chocolate fondue at Speakeasy....yummmy

I will post more pics of the dance contest next.....

Totally sinful.....but oh so good and Easy!

Ok this weekend my husband of almost 2 years (tomorrow is our anniversary!!) shot his first deer with his bow. This called for a celebration! We went back out to Sunny's farm for dinner and drinks. I was in charge of dessert. I made Hollie's scrumptious symphony brownies, which got me thinking about another great recipe...Chocolate chip cream cheese bars!!! These are SO delicious and so easy. Recipe-
Pre heat oven to 350. Roll a layer of cookie dough into the bottom of a greased dish. Then spread a layer of cream cheese mixed with powdered sugar (I also added brown sugar). Cover the cream cheese filling with another layer of cookie dough. Bake until dough is brown (about 20-30 minutes). And WHOA...its like heaven in your mouth!
